Rhinoplasty – 3
Do not let the color changes of the photos fool you! This is the same patient 4 years postop. Initially this 18-year-old girl saw me for an amorphous appearing nose, ill-defined nasal shape and wide dorsum with a plunging tip. We corrected the boxy deformity with nasal osteotomies, cartilage grafting and tip suturing techniques. Patient had lost significant amount of weight when we saw her, and is seen with lip augmentation with fat grafting as well and cheek enhanced with fat grafting as well. An improvement in her nasal length and tip projection has been accomplished. Furthermore a better relationship exists with the lip-nose-chin relationships. The worm’s eye view really shows the power of cosmetic rhinoplasty by changing the cartilage orientation and giving appropriate tip support and cartilage sculpting. This is accomplished through an open rhinoplasty approach, and the subtle scar can be seen at the columella in a stairstep appearance.
