Injectable facial fillers are a non-invasive, nonsurgical way to soften facial wrinkles, add volume to nasal and tear troughs, augment lips and cheeks, and smooth out nasolabial folds caused by sagging skin. At Plastic Surgery Austin, Dr. Sharma uses fillers formulated with hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in your body, and not only plumps up aging skin immediately, but serves to form a lasting platform for tissue ingrowth that keeps its shape for many months after injection. Two to three injections spaced several weeks apart are all that is needed with little to no downtime required. Fuller lips, reduced wrinkles, and improved facial contours can be achieved quickly and easily using hyaluronic acid-based soft tissue fillers. In contrast to previous collagen products, no allergy testing is needed prior to delivery, and these products offer few, if any, potential side effects. We also offer fat transfer, a procedure that uses fat from your own body to boost volume in areas of your face that have lost shape or begun to sag.

Juvéderm® XC – The original member of the Juvéderm® family is Juvéderm® XC, which focuses on minimizing the appearance of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. Typically used in the areas around your mouth and nose to add volume to folds, Juvéderm® XC provides your skin with a natural, more youthful appearance for up to one year.

Juvéderm Volbella® XC – Used to treat perioral lines (known as “lipstick lines”) and to plump and augment your lips, Juvéderm Volbella® XC can be injected around your mouth to soften the appearance of perioral lines, as well as in your lips to augment a thin pout. Juvéderm Volbella® XC results last for up to a year.

Juvéderm® Ultra XC – If you have thin lips, whether because of aging or genetics,  Juvéderm® Ultra XC can plump your pout, as well as treat moderate to severe lines around the mouth and nose. Juvéderm® Ultra XC provides you with smoother skin and a fuller mouth for up to a year.

Fat Transfer

Fat injections offer the peace of mind for natural injectable fillers since it is derived from the patient’s own body. The effects are not as long lasting, and several treatments may be required to effect permanent change. The fat is harvested from the abdomen or thigh, spun down into syringes, and injected into the areas of concern. Certainly, an overcorrection is necessary to take into account the eventual resorption of the fat, perhaps as much as 50% from the initial injection. Fat grafting is used most commonly as an adjunct combined with facial rejuvenation procedures such as face lifts and eyelid lifts to add volume to the aging face. Its time tested and effective and a mainstay in volume restoration or enhancement in Dr. Sharma’s practice.
