Breast Augmentation

Today, women have two options for breast implants, either saline or silicone filled implants. Depending on patient preference and overlying breast tissue thickness, Dr Sharma can help choose the right implant for you. Silicone implants are now constructed with a "cohesive gel", meaning if the implant ruptures or breaks down, no leakage of the implant occurs--its stays in place. Silicone implants give the breasts a natural, soft feel that is hardly detectable or perceived as "fake".

Breast Reduction

The pain and suffering of macromastia, or enlarged breasts, can be debilitating. Neck pain, chronic back pain, skin rashes and shoulder grooves from heavy, pendulous breasts can be treated by reducing the size of the breasts with surgery. Various techniques are available, with the most common scar patterns being the anchor-shaped or inverted-T shaped incision, and the vertical or "lolipop lift". Patients usually are quite grateful for the better quality of life afforded after breast reduction. Improved self-confidence, health and well-being, and attractiveness are all expected after the surgery.

Mastopexy (Breast Lift)

Over time, a woman's breasts loses its inert elasticity causing sagging and stretching. Reasons include post-pregnancy, nursing, and gravity. A breast lift repositions the nipples to their normal location while rejuvenating the breasts to a more youthful, firmer shape and appearance. Often, the stretched areola can be reduced to a more natural shape and size as well. The size and shape of the scars are determined by the degree of ptosis or sagging of the breasts to begin with. Sometimes the best shapes are obtained by the combination of lifting and augmenting the breasts with implants. The proper operation can only be determined by careful examination with your plastic surgeon.
